Josh Tavares brings a sophisticated blend of trademark portfolio management, legal operations experience, and technical precision to Minx Law.
His work spans domestic and international trademark clearance, prosecution, maintenance, enforcement support, portfolio management, and global filing strategy. Josh has supported trademark matters for prominent technology, entertainment, consumer, and lifestyle brands, with experience managing large-scale portfolios and coordinating complex international trademark initiatives.
Prior to joining Minx Law, Josh worked at IPLA, LLP, where he supported trademark portfolios and projects for clients including Snap Inc., Neuralink Corp., Figma, Inc., Fabletics, Vuori, NBCUniversal, and Canon Kabushiki Kaisha. His experience includes managing extensive trademark portfolios, coordinating global filing and assignment projects, supporting TTAB opposition matters, conducting clearance and monitoring work, and overseeing renewal and maintenance filings across multiple jurisdictions.
Josh’s background also includes six years of service in the United States Marine Corps at Camp Pendleton, California, where he developed the discipline, attention to detail, and operational focus that continue to inform his legal work. During his service, he received the Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal for his contributions during Operation Cobra Gold in Thailand, supporting humanitarian civic action, community engagement, and medical activities.
Josh earned his Associate of Science in Engineering from Norco College and his Paralegal Certificate from the University of San Diego. He is a member of the National Association of Legal Assistants (NALA) and the Corporate Legal Operations Consortium (CLOC).
